Our Process

The first step in the process of producing our handcrafted log furniture is to find the type of wood we want to use.

We go to the woods and cut the trees.

Next, we use our wood-mizer, which is a portable saw mill.

The logs are then milled to the size of wood slabs we will be using.

After they have been milled, the slabs and branches are allowed a drying period.
Next, the pieces of wood are selected for whatever type of log furniture we are crafting. These pieces must now have the bark peeled off. This is done by hand using old-fashioned hand drawn knives. This process takes a lot of time and energy. When the bark is off, the pieces must then be sanded.
Depending on what piece of log furniture is being crafted, the next step prepares it for being assembled. The legs and arms are fitted using a tenon cutter. And the slabs for tables, seats, benches, etc. are prepared for legs and arms using a tenon cutter also. Each piece is then fitted and glued together.
Then there is a final clean-up and sanding process. When this is done, a clear coat finish is applied to protect the furniture. This finish not only protects it, but enhances the natural grains and colors
in the wood.
As you have seen, each piece of our log furniture is totally handcrafted. This log furniture is exquisitely crafted and all pieces are one of a kind and customized. Our log furniture can bring a warm, comfy country charm to any décor.
